TEN

Users’ sense of agency on social media platforms are undermine by design patterns that aim to increase their screen time (e.g , autoplay feature on YouTube, infinite scrolling on Instagram and Facebook, recommendation system on TikTok, etc). However, researches have found that users prefer specific interfaces to support and enhance their experience when they have clear purposes in mind. In this context, I designed an app that adds friction to the experience. TEN is a social media platform where users can post about their wins and achievements across different topics. The interface is built in such a way that one has to react to a post before being able to see the next post.
